Seriously?

Lots of silly and/or wacky things happen around here.  I thought I'd catalog just a few from this week:

I found Gavin and Lexi running on the treadmill.  Both of them.  At the same time.  Fast.

When I put an end to their fun, Gavin protested:  "But Mom!  I need my exercise!"

*

Just before dinner, Tyler looked around the kitchen, living room, and dining room.  He made a confused face and said, "Did you clean up this house or something?"

(Instead of being offended, I was glad that someone noticed my efforts!)

*

Lexi and Gavin got into Tyler's tub of Flarp (farting putty...it's as ridiculous as it sounds), and Lexi apparently wanted to get up close and personal with it.  She came upstairs with a huge wad in her hair.

I spent the next half hour picking it out, strand by strand.  Then I washed her hair thoroughly in the bathtub and combed out the rest.  Although Lexi lost a few hairs, I didn't have to cut out the Flarp.  Disaster averted.

I stepped on the scale today after a full week of my new diet and exercise regimen.  I have really reduced my caloric intake and had a 20-30-minute date with the treadmill every day.  My reward?  A three-pound weight GAIN.

I love my life.

Throw your scale away dear. Worry less about how much you weigh and just watch how your clothes fit. You are likely building muscle, which actually weighs more than fat. It is also more dense, so you may be losing fat and replacing it with muscle, and your clothes will start to loosen. I hate scales..... Keep on keeping on sweetie. Thinking of you....

The carpet in our loft upstairs has a lovely patch of flarp that has been there for literally years. So glad you didn't have to cut Lexi's hair.

Hang in there with the weight loss. It can take a few weeks for your body to get the message. The results will come.

I'm relieved to hear you got the flarp out of Lexi's hair. One of my kids got some at Christmas--so now I know it's workable, should it end up in someone's hair. (But, I see that carpet may be another matter...)

Wow, so glad the Flarp came out with no scissors required!

And I know it probably doesn't help at this moment, but I read a really interesting article a few months back and I managed to dig it up for your enjoyment, should you enjoy it:

Well, you probably don't remember my meltdown when I got home from the hospital after having Angie and weighed more postpartum than I did before delivery. How can one have a 7 lb. baby and weigh more? Seriously?

Way to be observant, Tyler. Love it.

I agree with joeyship. Throw the scale away. Feeling healthy and feeling how clothes fit should be what you want to focus on. Being a number will just create upset feelings--at least that's what I have to do.

Lexi's blue goo hair do---SO FASHION! So happy you didn't have to cut it out of her hair.

You are such an inspiring woman and friend. I adore you, Heidi!

pass it on!
