It's like learning to ride a bike

He learned to tie them after I showed him once.
Once.

He is so incredibly proud of himself...
...and so am I.

I shouldn't be surprised.
He taught himself to ride a bike, after all.

It's because he's been "studying" how things work all his life. You know, what happens when I skate on maple syrup on my belly? Or when I dump the sugar out onto the hardwood floor? Or when I overflow the bathtub? I guess figuring out how to tie shoes after taking apart and discovering so many other things just made sense to him! Way to go!

Gavin sure challenges you in many uncharted ways, but he skips over a few of the more usual ones.
